Police prepare for Boris visit

Police prepare for Boris visit

The police presence is strong around the Telford International Centre as they wait for Boris Johnson and other cabinet members to arrive today to launch their manifesto. The story was broken by Telford Live before 1pm yesterday, beating all other news organisations.

The meeting is closed to the public, with a rush for tickets by party members late yesterday afternoon.

Police have been drafted in from across the region including Hereford & Ledbury.

A Facebook group has been set up by anti-Tory activists to organise a welcoming committe. At the time of writing, it is 16 going and 35 interested.

  • I doubt he’ll turn up. He doesn’t have a great record on keeping his promises.

  • Go take a walk around places like Woodside and see how austerity has hit Boris? Presume he’ll go through the backdoor or via a helicopter. Twat

  • There really are only two types of Tory, millionaires and the deluded. If you vote Tory, and you want to know which category you’re in, just look in your wallet!

  • Why bar the public? Revealing his manifesto in a town where his government is taking away our A&E, mother and baby unit and two more doctor surgeries, how is that investing in the NHS, lying scumbag TORIES.

  • Why is he and Tories running so frightened of the general public? Could it be the constant lies, double standards, robbing off then working poor, children and disabled?! The man and party is a joke! Hope he gets the welcome he deserves!

  • Labour can’t win on merit so they threaten and intimidate in the hope of scaring off their opponents. The Tories are predicted to win a big majority nationally and hopefully that’s also true for Telford. The alternative is a Corbynite full time trade unionist agitator whose campaign so far seems to have consisted of writing a letter to the Health Secretary about the hospital which was as effective as the council’s letters and being filmed strutting around council estates. Say what you like about Lucy Allan but she’s got more commitments for our hospital than anyone else and while Labour were trying to prevent an investigation into the child abuse that’s been covered up on their watch, she has brought it into the open and got an investigation.

  • If it were labour I’m sure the meeting wouldn’t be closed to the public….

  • Tories lie, all they ever do it lie. Make shit up, spend all their time constructing a smear campaign, fabricate death threats and laugh at towns like ours as we squabble amongst ourselves. They’re a joke. Absolutely fuck them

  • I’m sorry mr Johnson but I wont be voting for you. If I had my way none of you party leaders would have the chance at running our country. All you focus on is ‘let’s get Brexit done’. Well, what after that? We are meant to be one of the richest countries in the world, but your government has made it feel like a third world country. Children going hungry, parents working their arses off and barely making ends meet. Food banks at their all time high. Surely parliament is meant to represent the people, not just their egos and their wallets. To be completely honest, I couldnt give a fuck about brexit anymore! Maybe whoever’s gets to be our next pm should maybe focus on repairing this country.
