That’s all folks! Telford European Christmas Market leaves tomorrow evening.
That’s all folks! Telford European Christmas Market leaves tomorrow evening.
The 23rd is the last day for the market at Southwater, although the Fair and the Bar in the Tent will remain for a little longer.
What are your thoughts on the Christmas Market? A welcome attraction to Telford Centre this time of year?

Maybe cut down the rental cost so the sellers can knock their prices down a bit…. not as good as previous years
None existent food hygiene standards in the food stalls.
Need more selection of stalls
Theres not enough variety, its mainly food again
Prefer a relaxing stroll through Southwater rather than the market crowds and mess
Was half the size of last year as stalls were back to back the year before and going up towards tgi, mostly food stalls there. Was disappointed but wouldn’t like to lose it just needs to attract a wider variety in what’s being sold. If they dropped the rent ablt they might attract better stalls
Overpriced and not many stalls at all
The 3 times I was up there, 1 it was closed and the other 2 it may as well of been. How much food was wasted by the stall with the huge chunks of meat he had sitting over the heat?
Overpriced for your average family

Very overpriced for food. Would like to see more variety of stalls next year
The market was crap to be honest, the first one was brill, this one an the last one were mainly food, not exactly what you would class as a xmas market
Thay need to make it bigger
Chester is a small market but great variety of quality AND reasonable priced ‘gift’ stalls eg felt decorations and gifts etc etc. Surely there are people with these skills in the area?? There’s too many food stalls, especially as being so close to the town centre.
Was mostly shut on Saturday night when we went to the bowling alley around 8:00 pm
Thought it was on till the new year. But they really do need more selection of stuff.
Sunny Kumar last day tomorrow

It seemed smaller this year
Disappointed that most stalls seem to be food rather than European decorations/gifts
Oddly, for a “European” market most traders seem to have gone for the uniquely British model of high prices and low trade rather than lower prices and many more customers.
Sorry, but I don’t care how brilliant your barbecue is, I’m NOT going to pay £25 for a mixed grill I have to eat standing outside in the rain !
I also wonder how the many food and drink outlets paying rent and rates in Southwater felt about the major influx of competition at this time of year ?
