Traffic Wardens to hit the streets. Where should they target?
Traffic Wardens to hit the streets. Where should they target?
It's six weeks until Telford Traffic Wardens or Enforcement Officers start handing out tickets on the streets, and sometimes pavements, of our town.
The five officers have been selected and will start work on 31st Jan 2020, targeting the parking black spots of our borough.
Until then, the parking enforcement has been left to the police, who have concentrated on schools and crossings. These enforcement officers will follow up on reports of local black spots from members of the public.
Where would you start?

Hadley Centre. Disabled spaces frequently taken up by workers going into Greggs and people using ATM outside Tesco
Yes! This.
Dawley High St
Residential areas where cars are parked on footpaths and on junctions. Disabled and family parking bays that are misused.
Trench rd.
Any school at collection time, around the town center at weekends and whenever there is a major event on at the international center, and Ironbridge when its sunny. Thats the obvious ones of course.
They shouldn’t target housing estates with inadequate parking but it’ll be easy money. The council is creating the problem for this money making scheme by approving housing developments like Lawley with inadequate parking provision.
Target no where they cause more trouble
Outside my house woumd very nice
Steve
Bristol is very bad for people basically parking where they like side streets they park on corners ,also the pavement years ago you would have been fined for parking on the p/ment with 2wheels very awkward for people to pass is pushchairs bring back police on the beat need more discipline
The lorry’s parked outside magna day and night are gonna cause a serious accident, that road is way too busy
New Church Road Wellington at school run times people park on the junction of Holyhead road and turn in the road it’s extremely unsafe particularly in light of the fact there are small children around at these times!
What about the appalling and selfish parking in the bus stop outside the Charlton school. So many near misses every day.
Marton drive. North Road it’s lethal school time double parking and the paths on Marton drive are parking spaces by the North Rd junction.
Madeley High Street, especially at the bottom!!!
Riddings Close on school morning they will get lots
Behind cineworld. Thats back to how it was all parked on double yellows. Pay for your parking like everyone else.
Willowfield when the school comes out they always park on double yellow lines
Turning for madeley court hotel at school start and finish times there are so many people who park on that junction and then pull straight out into traffic, surprised there hasn’t been a serious accident

Ercall wood school, drivers park in the edges of road ,no common sense
Doddington hollinswood ,people parking on path when they have a drive. People in wheelchair and pushchairs csnt get past
All schools, Langley waiting on double yellows as their babies can’t cross the road to the main car parks – however this would be fixed more easily if there was also a pedestrian crossing!!!!
all of madeley high street!! they thrash around and then pull on the pavement with no regards to, OAP’s kids or any pedestrians crossing the roada or walking on the paths and it’s all double yellow.
Any school in telford and Madeley bank for starters, they will make a fortune easily pay the monthly wage bill for them in the first day
Tesco in Hadley, disabled bays being used by non disabled and parking next to Greg’s on double yellows so they don’t have to waddle far to get there sludge pasty.
1, Ironbridge I personally believed there was already wardens but clearly not it’s a daily battle to work to get around people parking on double yellows.
2 Also in most housing estates as they double park stopping firengines and most emergency services and people getting home from work or even out to work.
3 outside of schools
And there is lots more places,
Seem happy to ticket you a minute over your parking but people parking unsafe hasnt been a issue to the council for a long time so it’s about time but they have issues everywhere to sort.

The legal challenge will be made elsewhere.
My complaint is about the attitude of the Officer concerned. My wheelchair enabled vehicle with my wife on board ( she is confined to the wheelchair) was parked on double yellow lines)
He approached and circulated around the vehicle several times before slamming a ticket on the window
He totally ignored her shouts and as a result she was frightened. I then returned to the vehicle to take her out. He refused to discuss the matter , even as to whether I should move on. He adopted a totally aggressive arrogant and when asked if that was his normal compassionate attitude he replied tough and walked off.
I have to say with so many of us coming together to try and regenerate the Town after the Corona Virus we do not need this type as ambassador for our town . We are told that officers are not to seek tickets at all cost Booking a Blue Badge vehicle suspected of an infringement might not justify that statement.
