Telford Journal printing suspended

Free local paper, Telford Journal, published by the owners of the Shropshire Star has been suspended according to one Industry website.

Hold the Front Page (HTFP), which reports the trials and tribulations of the local newspaper industry, suggests that the Journal is one of several free weekly papers that have been suspended due to Covid-19.

HTFP report that falling revenues from advertisers would affect the sustainability of the paper.

  • We’ve not received a Journal since December and we always used it for odd jobs that needed doing. We received one a couple of weeks ago and thought there must have been a problem with delivery before. However have. Not seen one since, if I was advertising my services in this paper I would be calling for a refund. We live in the TF1 area.
