Waters Upton scarecrow competition has a couple of new entrants today. A straw-stuffed Boris Johnson & Chris Witty deliver a briefing from the front garden of Emma Thomas, the Wrekin Conservative Party chair.

Of course the real PM has been off on his holidays, although it’s not unusual for Telford to get a visit from high ranking politicians at this time of year. Who could forget the time that Theresa May parked up at Telford M54 Services on her way to Wales.

Today, we have to make do with a man made of straw, and little opposition. At least in Waters Upton.
