100 Bag Challenge Launched by Lions

100 Bag Challenge Launched by Lions

Ironbridge & Severn Gorge Lions have launched their annual Christmas Food Appeal, which enables the club to donate food parcels to those families and individuals in crisis over the Christmas period. In 2020 the club collected over 4.5 tonnes of non-perishable foodstuffs which translated into some 450 food parcels.

The number of families in crisis this winter is likely to reach a new high this year and they are asking for help to collect as much food as possible.

Ironbridge Lions are Volunteers, enabling individuals and groups to build better communities. If you are interested in helping us to do that, just call. We would love to talk to you.

A spokesperson for the Lions told Telford Live!: “This is why we have launched the 100 BAG CHALLENGE. We want
100 individuals, families, friends, workmates, or groups to donate a bag of non-perishable foodstuffs. When the bag is ready give us a call and we will collect it.

“The collected bags alongside the food collected via our street collections and Santa and his sleigh’s visits to local supermarkets will make a great difference to Christmas for many in our local communities.”
