A couple of inaccuracies about what the building is actually for, and when the line was ‘closed’.
The big building still extant on site houses the switch gear for the national grid, and will be present forever. So 1000 homes built round a humming crackling and quite explosive (when the switches go off) building, super.
The railway line here has never been closed, not even after the power station closed.
It’s been lovely to hear the sound of a train horn again echoing through the valley.

Er, the VLR runs on electricity, so doesn’t emit any fumes. How is the electricity produced?
Strange there’s been nothing in the paper, on the news or radio
