Micropub ‘The Boot’ Announces Closure

The tiny bar in Market Square, Wellington has announced that it’s closing its doors on Monday.

Management took to Twitter to make the statement: ‘We’re all facing difficult times at the moment both financially and otherwise. Unfortunately, despite best efforts, the pub is not currently sustainable.

“In order to mitigate any further losses we’ve taken the difficult decision to close the pub from this Monday, until further notice, whilst we regroup and take some advice.”

The pub opened in the old cafe premises just under a year ago, selling high quality beers and more recently introduced food. The venue has been running quizzes, competitions, beer tastings and most recently, a beer themed social night aimed at women.

It’s the second pub that the owners operate, The Coracle in Ironbridge was opened in 2018 and is still running.
