Cleos not carrying on
A bar in Ironbridge that fell foul of noise complaints earlier in the year has closed, is now up for sale.
In April, neighbours complained to Telford & Wrekin Council about the noise from live music at the popular venue.
The owners started a petition to carry on and attracted over 500 signatures.Mike and Gail, the owners, presented their case to carry on with live music at the Licensing Committee meeting in April. They claimed to have won their case, taking to Facebook to say “We won the case, the live acts have to be finished by 10pm which is 15 mins earlier than before”.
A former motor repair garage before refurbishment, Cleos closed in June, and according to the owners, will not reopen.
If anyone fancies running the bar, it’s currently up for sale at £55,000. The advert states that the business is for sale due to retirement, and ‘… turnover for the financial year of September 2021 to August 2022 was £182,831.’
