Competitors prepare for Wrekin Fell Race
This Sunday, March 17th is the 43rd Wrekin Fell Race that has been organised every year since it started in 1977 by Telford Athletic Club.
The five and a half mile course starts and finishes at Ercall Wood School, Golf Links Lane, Wellington at 11 am. Entry on the day is welcome at only £8.
The route goes up and over the Ercall, then up to the Wrekin summit and returns by the same route. It is a tough route and not for the faint hearted and hundreds of runners have taken part over the years.

The race is the final race in this winters Shropshire Fell Running Series sponsored by The Outdoor Depot, Church Stretton. There are special prizes for the first Shropshire runner last years winners were Daniel Connolly and Charlotte White (pictured).
There are also races for juniors who are over 11 and under 13, 15 and 17, their race is up and down The Ercall Hill, 2.25 miles starting at 11.05 from Ercall Wood School, entry on the day just £2.
