Market Street businesses switched back on
A power failure that affected multiple business and domestic properties in Market Street, Wellington yesterday has now been fixed.
An aged underground cable needed a repair so two large generators were brought in to keep businesses going and residents supplied with power.
Market Street was closed to through traffic while the repair was carried out. The cable fault was traced to between Spiceland and Cakebox requiring the access road to Suites Direct to be excavated to obtain access and make good the supply.
Power is now flowing and the clean-up teams are at work to finish the job.
