International Record Store Day is a hit with Telford vinyl fans
Promoting the 260 independent record shops around the UK, Record Store Day has caught the imagination of vinyl buyers in Telford.
This was the scene before 8am today as record buyers queue up down the street for Spinning Around Records in Wellington, which opened up last year in an old cafe premises in New Street.
Emma, who runs the store, has been prepping and planning for the event for a long time, and on her TikTok, she has been previewing the stock build-up and new arrivals as they come in. (https://www.tiktok.com/@spinning_around_records)
Limited edition records and new releases from the likes of The 1975, Billy Bragg, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor have added to the excitement this year.
Across the country, Record Store Day is expected to deliver a £10m boost to retail sales.
