Reform UK Announce Telford Candidate
Royal Navy Veteran and local business owner Alan Adams has been announced as the Telford Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Reform UK.
Born-and-bred Telford native and an award-winning business coach, Alan said: “I’m delighted to have been invited by Reform UK to represent them here in Telford and to give local people a choice beyond the status quo.
“Telford is a special place, with a DNA all of its own, and it’s important to me that each and every voter here is given the opportunity to have someone truly represent them. Many people I’ve spoken to feel that Labour is offering just more of the same, and they’re seriously disaffected by the Tories and the Conservative government.
“In fact, I’ve lost count of the number of local people who’ve told me that they may just not even bother voting, and that just felt wrong. We need a strong, alternative choice, someone who would honour the 67% of people locally who voted for Brexit, and who would put Telford above any party politics. And I truly believe that’s me.
“I ‘get’ Telford. I was born here, went to school and college here, and bar six years when I served in the Royal Navy as a Submariner, I’ve lived here my whole life. I know all that’s great about our town, as well as where we need more support, and I know that as a resident, as a small business owner, and as a family man too.
“I’m not a career politician, I’m just a hard-working, decent local guy who wants to do the right thing. The Navy taught me what service really means, and to me, standing for Telford and giving people here a viable choice is a natural extension of that” he concluded.
Alan is basing his campaign on a return to common sense, on doing the right thing, and on responsibility and accountability. He believes in a smaller state, lower taxes, and less red tape. In encouraging and celebrating success. And in freedom of speech and an end to cancel-culture. Most of all, he believes in a Britain that’s Great, but that could be so much greater for us all.
