Telford comic is on the list once again
Roger Swift, comedian, promoter and pub cleaner, has once again made it onto the top jokes list at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. When not performing at the Fringe, Roger not only performs comedy across the UK. but also runs regular comedy nights in the Midlands under his Technicolur Smoof brand, including at the Crown Inn at Oakengates.
The U&Dave’s Funniest Joke of the Fringe competition is judged by 2000 members of the public, with comedian Mark Simmons taking the crown this year with “I was going to sail around the globe in the world’s smallest ship, but I bottled it.”
Roger, who has taken his frantic “200 Puns in 1 Hour” show to Edinburgh for the third time, came just outside the top 10 with “I’ve got a girlfriend who never stops whining. I wish I’d never bought her that vineyard.”.
John Ellis, owner of The Crown Inn said “We’re all very excited for him, even if it’s only to have him back at work soon!”
The next comedy show at The Crown Inn is on 10th September with Sam Serrano, who has appeared at Hot Water Comedy Club, plus support.
