Ironbridge event celebrates sighthounds

The Great Global Greyhound Walk (GGGW) aims for another record-breaking event and to spread the love of sighthounds across the world in 2024.

2023 was the most successful GGGW yet, with 36 countries taking part in 458 registered walks, with a grand total of 11,718 hounds participating. On Sunday 29th September this year the hope is to push the boundaries even further.

Locally, the Greyhound Trust (Shropshire & Borders) welcomes all greyhounds and sighthounds to join them for the walk on 29th September at 11am.

Organisers told Telford Live! “There is always a theme and this year it is flags. It is optional but some hounds love to dress up – well, at least, don’t try to tear the outfits off.

“We meet at Station Yard Car Park, Ladywood, Ironbridge TF8 7JP. We will take a photo or two to publicise our walk along with the number of hounds & humans who take part.

“The walk continues to the Maws Craft Centre, Jackfield, Telford TF8 7LS where we will socialise at The Tile Press Café. After refreshments we will then walk back to the Station Yard Car Park.”
