Dawley house fire

Shropshire Fire and Rescue attended a Wrekin Housing Group sheltered home last night in Vicarage Grove, Dawley, following reports of a fire alarm sounding.

From Amber Watch Facebook “On arrival, smoke could be seen from the rear door and a neighbour made us aware that someone was still inside.

“The Officer in Command made the call to our fire control to make this a persons reported house fire. This mobilised 2 additional appliances from Telford Central.

“Crews wearing Breathing Apparatus, equipped with a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera entered the property and rescued one lady who received immediate medical attention once outside.

“The lady was then left in the care of the ambulance service.

“We wish the lady a speedy recovery”
