It’s that time of the year again.

We are entering into a dark time. Quite literally, seeing as the clocks are changing tonight. It does strange things to people.

The changing of the clocks overnight presents multiple problems around the town. I’ve always wondered how they change the Frog clock at the shopping centre. The clock on my cooker has been wrong all summer so I look forward to that being correct once again. In Broseley, they have to dig out their slightly longer candles for the evening.

I’ve been subjected to an orchestrated hate campaign for a few of my musings, especially from Broseley. This manifests as both of the people with internet access leaving comments to the fact they were mildly annoyed about the shade being thown over the river.

This was nothing compared the the vitriol laid at my electronic door for a post about Hedgehogs. It went along the lines of checking bonfires for hedgehogs because if they are wrapped in foil and left for two hours, they make a tasty seasonal snack. I never knew they were so popular.

Finally, firework night is almost upon us. A hundred Facebook posts about dogs and the sound of thousands of pounds going up in smoke, fire and bangs are being prepared already.

Maybe if the dogs were quiet the rest of year, people may have more sympathy, although I did see that Asda are selling silent fireworks this year. I do wonder what the sales will be like.

The concept appears to have much in common with a silent disco – seems like a good idea at the time, but when it comes to the crunch, you are going to standing round with your friends in a damp garden, looking up and looking silly, but at least without the lime green leg warmers.

The Trick or Treaters will also be out in force over the next few days. I don’t know when it became popular to go round houses begging for sweets, but I’m suprised this hasn’t yet evolved into an app, that allows little Johnny to send a gofundme to all the houses in a half mile radius, from the comfort of his bedroom so as not to interrupt his Fortnite session. Look out for me on Dragons Den.

Happy Winter/Halloween/Bonfire Night everybody!
