Man rescued from house fire
Fire crews from Wellington and Telford were called out to a house fire in Broomfield Road in Newport during the early hours of this morning.
According to reports from Amber Watch, one lady had managed to escape the fire, but a man was still inside the home.
Amber watch said “Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire with several firefighters being committed wearing Breathing Apparatus, before requesting the Arial Ladder Platform to attend in order to inspect the roof of the property and damp down.
“One female casualty and one male casualty in care of ambulance service. We wish both a very speedy recovery.”
The fire service left the scene around 3am.
