Crumbs! Room left Sammy disappointed

Daughters wedding reception accommodation left Mother feeling disappointed after a cracker was found inserted into a radiator.

The rooms, which disabled Sammy documented with photographs, cost over £100 a night but the cracker wasnt the only problem.

The first room that the hotel placed Sammy in was showing signs of mold and dirty bedding, so the hotel moved them to another room, which, according to Sammy was no better.

Sammy takes up the story “…we complained and was moved rooms and that was worse. Soiled duvets, black mould in the windows as well as the bathrooms.

“Duvets were soiled, net curtains black around the seams, ripped, black mold in the corners as well as all around the bath, the walls and floors of both bathrooms. These were family rooms with a 2 year old and a 6 year old with asthma.

“They moved our rooms during the wedding so it was 11pm when we got in the 2nd room. No staff on to do anything to help so had no choice but to stay.”

Sammy complained to the management at Haughton Hall Hotel, Shifnal “We emailed when we left and was ignored, after 10 days I posted pictures on their fb page and they blocked me”.

The management team at the venue responded to Telford Live’s request for a statement. “We are unfortunately unable to discuss directly guests’ information due to GDPR Regulations, however the guest you are referring to … was given a complimentary free night Bed & Breakfast stay as compensation for this and the issue was addressed during her stay by the Manager on Duty.

“All complaints are taken very seriously and dealt with in a timely manner dependent on the details of the complaint, and the time frame required to fully investigate with the team.

“It can be during this process that on occasions some information does then becomes fabricated.”The team at Haughton Hall work really hard to ensure all our guests have a exceptional experience with us but unfortunately on occasion we do not exceed every guest’s expectation.”
