50p Bus trips for Christmas
From Monday, December 16 to Sunday, January 12 the flat rate single fare will apply to all seven council-run bus services including the 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, and 105.
The promotion is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to providing affordable and reliable public transport to residents and is the third time an offer such as this has been made available.
Councillor Ollie Vickers, Cabinet Member for the Economy said: “In line with this administration’s commitment to having well-connected communities, Telford & Wrekin Council now operates seven key bus routes, linking towns with vital services.
“Since launching two years ago, we’ve seen over 400,000 journeys, which is a testament to the success and need for these services. We’re delighted to continue providing them at affordable prices to our residents.”
“In addition to the festive deal, we have already confirmed that our £2 fare cap will not rise through the duration of 2025”
The council’s bus services, launched two years ago and have become a link for residents, connecting them with key education, employment, and shopping hubs across the borough.
Councillor Vickers added: “Affordable public transport is key to ensuring all our residents can access work, education, and healthcare. We’re proud to continue offering single fares at just £2 for adults and £1 for children, and with the bonus of our 50p fare promotion this December, we’re making travel even more accessible.”
Reduced-rate whole-day, week, month, and annual tickets are also available for frequent travellers, providing even more value for money.
Don’t miss this opportunity to discover the convenience of Citymapper and enjoy discounted bus travel during the Easter holidays on council-funded bus routes including the 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104 and 105.
To support travel around the borough, the Citymapper app allows people to add a location, and it will show people the nearest bus stop and what time it is expected – even if it’s been delayed.
