Chance to go behind the scenes at Telford’s new fire station

Shropshire Chamber of Commerce’s networking group for young business people will be going behind the scenes at Telford’s town centre new-look fire station for its first meeting of 2025.

The building, on the Stafford Park industrial estate, has been revamped and extended in a £10 million investment which has been described as ‘a flagship construction for green technology’.

And on February 6, members of the Chamber’s young business people’s group, Our Future In Focus, will be given a tour of the building and get chance to meet key members of the team.

The event, from 5pm to 6.30pm, will include networking opportunities, and a presentation on fire protection from safety inspection officer Matt Angell in one of the building’s new-look training rooms.

Nearly 2,100 square metres of internal space has been reorganised to improve the functionality and operation of the building with a single and a two-storey extension. The project was carried out by award-winning local contractor McPhillips.

Ella Preece, Shropshire Chamber’s marketing co-ordinator, said: “Our Future In Focus is an opportunity for young people from Shropshire-based businesses to build new connections among like-minded individuals.

“It is a chance to enhance their personal knowledge in a relaxed and friendly networking environment, and contribute positively to the local business community.

“We are looking to grow the group over the coming year, and are always looking to collaborate with local employers. This is the first in a series of exciting events and networking opportunities being planned for 2025.”

A minimum of four Our Future In Focus events will be organised over the coming year. For more details about the group, see www.shropshire-chamber.co.uk/membership/our-future-in-focus.
