Homebase: Everything must go

The troubled chain of DIY shops is nearing the end, and sale signs have gone up in Telford.

You can now get up to 50% off Christmas Decorations and 25% off mowers, but you’ll need to hurry before the shutters come down for good.

Telford was not one of the stores that featured in the plans of the CDS Superstores International Ltd who bought a number of stores and will continue the Homebase brand online. Nor has it been picked up by Sainsburys, who copped 10 stores last month.

The Wrekin Retail Park store had a bit of a changeround in 2019, when part of the shop was partitioned off and became part of Home Bargains, next door.

What would you like to see at Wrekin Retail Park, apart from a McDonalds with a working milkshake machine?

  • I’d like to see Telford have a Decathlon in the empty unit.
