Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 8:45 am – 4:00 pm

Overley Hall School is an independent special school for children aged 8 to 19 many of whom reside onsite, at Wellingtonia Children’s Home. Overley Hall School provides education for up to twenty-four children and young people. We cater for children with complex needs associated with learning difficulties, autism, communication, social conditions and other diagnoses. Many of our pupils have additional needs linked to symptoms of attachment and trauma. Our staff to pupil ratio is high with many of our children having 1:1 staffing. Our approach is to nurture and provide a high standard of person-centred support to enable pupils to thrive educationally, emotionally and socially.

This role is open to individuals who want to start a career in SEND or continue to develop their career journey with a hugely respected school. Training and self-development are an essential part of the school’s vision and our focus on staff wellbeing is a priority.

Your role will be to support children and young people with their education to prepare them for independence into their adult lives, at school and in the wider community. About Overley Hall

Overley Hall was established in 1980 by co-principals/husband and wife, Anita and Paul Brown; both from special education teaching backgrounds. They purchased the main building from the RNIB who ran a ‘Sunshine Home’ for children with visual impairments there from 1950 to 1979. The independent school/home was established to provide a specialised, residential learning and living environment for children and young people who have a range of complex needs in a peaceful rural setting. Overley Hall remains a family run company.

Overley Hall is set in a tranquil, rural, country estate with 14-acres of grounds located in Telford, Shropshire. Overley Hall provides a wide range of on-site facilities including: Soft play room, sensory rooms, cinema, playgrounds with play equipment, Coach House, Woodland area, Forest School sites, including: camp fire areas, earth oven, pond, sensory garden, walled garden, Trampoline area, Farm Shop and outdoor activity classroom.
