Pampering sessions will raise cash for charity

Hair and beauty students from Telford College will be raising cash for a local charity this month by running two days of pampering sessions.

The college’s on-site hair and beauty training salon will be opening its doors from 9.30am on December 12 and 13 to offer washes, blow dries, and mini facials in return for a minimum cash donation of £5.

All the money raised from the event, at The Retreat on the college’s Wellington campus, will be donated to Severn Hospice.

The treatments will be carried out by the college’s hair and beauty students, under supervision from expert staff.

Jodie Allen, the college’s hair, beauty and catering learner manager said: “It’s a chance for people to pamper themselves in the run-up to Christmas, while raising money for a brilliant local cause at the same time.

“We chose Severn Hospice because it has helped and supported a number of staff and students’ families, and this was a chance to give something back and show our gratitude.”

Appointments need to be booked in advance through the team at The Retreat. For details, call 01952 642466.

Severn Hospice gives specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness.
It has bases in Telford and Shrewsbury, which are funded through a combination of donations from local people, fundraising activities, the Severn Hospice lottery, plus retail departments, gifts in people’s wills and grants from the NHS.
