Stuart Parr elected to Hadley and Leegomery Parish Council
It was a Conservative victory in the election last night, as Stuart Parr scored 162 votes, to Ranbir Sahota’s 126 for Labour in the Hadley Manor Ward.
The seat was vacated due to a resignation of a Labour Councillor, and a seat that Labour might have expected to hang on to. Only last month, Cllr Julie Kaur was elected for Labour for seat at the Borough Council for the area.
No stranger to local politics, Cllr Parr served for years in South Telford as a parish councillor. He told Telford Live “It’s the first time in living memory that Hadley Manor has had a Conservative councillor, and I’m grateful that the people have put their trust in me to do something different.
“I’m determined to represent all the voters, not just the ones that voted for me yesterday. I have a track record in getting things done and I already have a list of issues that need addressing.”
The turnout was 14.22%
