Tree crashed down on car

A mother and daughter travelling along Whitchurch Drive near the Princess Royal Hospital had a miraculous escape from injury this morning as a tree crashed down on their car.

High winds felled the tree, smashing their windscreen and making the road impassable.

Witness, Kyle Birch saw the event unfold and managed to stop to help the mother and her two-year old out of the vehicle to safety.

He told Telford Live “…it could have been fatal”.
