‘Twas the last weekend before Christmas
It’s the final countdown. Incredible how, when 2024 first started, we knew exactly when Christmas would happen. It’s the same date every year, yet here we are. It’s crept up on us once again.
Today, the last Saturday before Christmas, you can expect queues to get both on and off the retail parks, non-stop Last Christmas in-store, and empty 8p veg displays.
Some men have planned ahead, and now not need to buy their other half a gift from the petrol station. Some men haven’t. I’m not going to judge, because people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
Today is also the day in the year that all retail staff are looking forward to. I’m kidding. It’s really not. And you could help make their day a little better by smiling, not being demanding or asking for the manager. They just want to get through their day too.
If we could all be a little more like Andy the wheel changer, and a little less like the Grinch, we can get through this.
