What the hell was that racket?

If you were in Wellington this afternoon, you would have heard an almighty racket.

According to one resident “We’ve just heard the loudest, almost horn sound going on for a good 5 mins, never heard anything like it, it was actually quite unsettling!”

Alistair Cox who was right on the scene captured this video showing exactly what was happening “Colas Rail 56090 with a seemingly broken horn heading light engine to Colwick.”

The driver was waiting for a signal right outside Aldi with the train horn blaring, before moving off down the track.
