Access Sport Partner with Ella Toone to Launch National Women’s Football Education Programme

Access Sport have partnered with Manchester United and England midfielder Ella Toone to launch a brand new Women’s Football education programme across the Nation. This programme will offer a attentive education programme based on football to young and aspiring players between the ages of 16-19.

Having recently launched a successful academy in Manchester named ‘ET7 Academy’ for players aged 8-16 in 2024, Toone has partnered with Access Sport to create a full-time national scholarship programme, launching in September of 2025.

“I always wanted to start my own academy to give girls a chance of fulfilling their dreams. ET7 is me giving back, a place to help develop young girls both on and off the pitch. Somewhere girls can play with a smile on their face and enjoy playing football within a safe environment.

I am really looking forward to working with Access Sport College as it is clear our ethos align to represent the dream, believe, achieve values we have set here at the ET7 Academy ” – Ella Toone.

Access Sport are a part of the Access Education Group, who have been delivering sport based education for 30 years. They are the UK’s largest national independent training provider of further education for 16-19 year olds, and offer a wide range of programmes/courses in many areas. These areas range from sport science and coaching to sports media. Potential pathways when taking on these courses can include University, US scholarships, semi-professional/professional athletic careers and so much more.

This programme will also be running at Access Sports campus in Telford, which is based at AFC Telford’s ground in Wellington. The programme offers a diverse curriculum and a wide range of additional opportunities such as training camps, international tours and work experience. This programme will help potential future stars gain the skills and expertise needed to progress onto semi-profession or even professional football careers. These skills can be transferred both on and off the pitch, and the latest performance technology such as VEO cameras, GPS vests and sports coaching session planners will be used to maximise players physical and technical performances, alongside giving them experience in using these devices for future reference in coaching and analysis roles.

To go alongside all of these fantastic opportunities, ET7 Academy elite national player camps will also be held annually to give players the chance to meet Ella Toone and also gain an insight into the type of life professional footballers live.

“As a leading provider in offering sport education programmes, we are hugely excited to launch our dedicated female programmes with the ET7 academy and Ella as ambassador.

From both our own research and seeing the positive results of the FA’s ‘Inspiring Positive Change’ Strategy from 2020-2024, massive steps have been made in not only making football accessible for females, but also the stronger career pathways and opportunities that are now becoming available within the industry to forge successful careers for women.

With our college’s expertise and experience in delivering career focused education programmes for over 30 years and Ella’s experience as both a player on the pitch and entrepreneur off it, we really believe we have a unique offering that provides a great learning environment for any female student looking to pursue a career in the world of football or sport.” – Gary Judge, Managing Director, Access Sport College.

Applications for the course, launching in September 2025, are now open at Access Sport locations across the North West, North East, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, East Anglia and the South West of England. Information events and experience sessions are planned for February half term, and people that are interested applying are highly encouraged to visit www.et7ellatoone.com/et7-academy/ to find out more.
