Telford Raiders to play in the Betfred Challenge Cup

Telford Raiders RLFC will be making history this weekend as they head to Mayfield Sports Centre in Rochdale to kickstart their first ever Betfred Challenge Cup campaign against Rochdale Mayfield.

The news that the team would be playing in the cup was announced in October of last year, after an epic season which saw the Raiders becoming league winners for a second time, Midlands Champions, and Harry Jepson National champions.

With Telford Raiders entering the cup at round one, they have a long way to go to get to the final, but Head Coach Nathan Parker has reported that the team have started training last week and there is “a real buzz around us at the moment” when speaking to us.

When asking how proud of the team he is, he replied “Massively, we set them 3 targets this season, achieved all three: League won, Midlands final won, Harry Jepson (national final) won, then an entry into 2025 challenge cup.”
