Illegal and dangerous good siezed
Telford & Wrekin Council Trading Standards officers received a tip-off that resulted in tobbaco and vapes being seized.
In a swift action triggered by a tip-off, Trading Standards raided a Telford Town Centre premises and uncovered a stash of illicit tobacco being sold to the public.
A total of 60 packs of hand-rolled tobacco were seized, alongside 470 non-compliant vapes that failed to meet legal sale standards.
This is not the first time that Trading Standards have taken action at this location, previously officers confiscated unsafe toys, putting a stop to further risk to consumers.
T&W Council said “This operation is a further demonstration of our commitment to a strong enforcement agenda, taking bold, decisive action to tackle illegal and dangerous goods in our community.
“Our team is now evaluating the next steps for enforcement, with further action now being considered.”
Telford & Wrekin did not name the store raided, pending further action.
