Midlands Air Ambulance to benefit from awards night fundraising
Shropshire Chamber of Commerce has chosen the Midlands Air Ambulance to benefit from its charity fundraising efforts at this summer’s county business awards.
The Chamber selects a local cause each year to receive the proceeds from on-the-night fundraising at the black tie event, which will be held this year at Telford’s International Centre on June 20.
This year, for the event’s 25th anniversary, the Chamber has chosen the Cosford-based Midlands Air Ambulance to receive the proceeds of a charity game which will be played by an expected audience of around 700 people.
Pam Batson, corporate partnerships manager at the charity, said: “We are so lucky to have such fantastic support that helps keep our service operating across the heart of England.”
Last year’s business awards night raised thousands of pounds for Severn Hospice, while previous recipients have included Little Stars, and the Lingen Davies Cancer fund.
Entries are now open for the 2025 Shropshire Chamber Business Awards, which has 14 categories this year. Companies don’t need to be members of the Chamber to enter – they just need to have an operational base in Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin.
The competition is free to enter, and the closing date for submissions is April 4. All the details are at www.shropshirechamberbusinessawards.com.
