Could there be a new store opening here soon?

Homebase closed it’s doors for the last time a couple of weeks ago, leaving a substantial gap in Wrekin Retail Park in between big Tesco and Home Bargains.

On Friday, plans were lodged at Telford and Wrekin Council planning department by a sign makers who were applying on behalf of B&M Stores. The application states that sign will be erected at Unit A, the same address that Homebase occupied.

B&M currently have stores at Forge Retail Park, Town Centre, Newport and Wellington, where they moved across town into the old Wilkos store. They also own Heron Foods, which just has a single store in Wellington.

While there is no hint on the B&M or Heron Foods websites about a new store in Telford, we have approached B&M for confirmation.
