Inspirational Keira up for award

17 year old Keira Mayhew of Rainbow Rescue, Telford is up for Young Inspirational Person / Volunteer of the Year award

For several years, Keira has volunteered at Rainbow Rescue Telford, caring for animals by cleaning pens, grooming, and feeding, and has since evolved into a superstar fundraiser. Driven by her passion for animal welfare, she founded Rainbow Gifts Telford, crafting and selling 3D-printed keyrings, coasters, small decorations, origami pieces, and resin items to raise much-needed funds for local animal rescues.

Starting with Rainbow Rescue Telford, Keira’s incredible success has enabled her to support Jelly Exotics (reptiles and snakes) and Creature Comforts Rescue Centre (cats, dogs, rabbits, and more).

Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to develop a business plan, manage finances, and maximise profits, with all proceeds going to charity. Keira’s remarkable efforts earned her a Coronation Champion Award from King Charles for her relentless volunteering. Using social media to raise awareness and funds, Keira has made such a significant impact that her story has been featured in local news.

Her caring nature, leadership, and determination inspire others, as she even teaches new volunteers how to help.Through her compassion, creativity, and selfless dedication, Keira Mayhew continues to change lives—both animal and human—proving that age is no barrier to making a difference. She is truly an inspiration and a champion for animal welfare.
