Fire at former builders merchants
Firefighters from Wellington and Telford Central were alerted to reports of a fire in Oakengates on Monday evening.
The fire was located in a derelict two-storey property on Stafford Road, that used to be Wrekin Building Supplies. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
The site has previously been subject to a planning application for 30 homes which was withdrawn in 2024.
