Primary school national offer day success
Almost 99 percent of children who are due to start school this September in Telford and Wrekin have been offered a place today at one of their preferred primary schools say Telford & Wrekin Council.
From over 2000 applications, 1867 applicants were offered a place at their first-choice school, 94 applicants were offered a place at their second choice, 13 applicants their third choice and 4 applicants their fourth preference.
The council will notify parents and carers by email of their primary school application outcome today (16 April), but they can also view their primary school offer by logging on the Parent Portal account on the Council’s website.
Parents and carers whose children have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) have already been informed of their September school place.
Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education, Employment and Skills, said: “As a Council, we are committed to providing more and more school places at both primary and secondary. In recent years, our Council has been investing heavily in schools across the Borough, expanding schools’ capacity by hundreds of places, to ensure every local child and young person can attend a local school and benefit from modern facilities.
“But we’ve also earmarked additional funding in this year’s budget to expand more schools and provide more places. This will help meet the growing demand as we welcome more families who are choosing to call Telford and Wrekin home.”
