Wellington Subway Serves Up a Treat
The popular sandwich franchise now has 3 branches operating in Telford, the first of which was set up in a landmark building right on the Market Square. Perhaps the most impressive of all Subways restaurants, the black and white half timbered building unchanged since at least 1897 as you can see in this old photo here.
With Subway, it’s all about getting what you want, exactly how you want it. A selection of breads including a
wrap, or even have it in a bowl without bread at all. As your food is created before your eyes, you ask for lettuce, tomato, peppers, cucumber, sweetcorn, chillies, pickles, olives and a choice of dressings to finish off your lunch creation.
The team behind the counter are always friendly and happy to explain what the choices are. For vegetarians they always ask if you would like them to change their gloves, so that the last sandwiches Coronation Chicken doesn’t end up in your Veggie Delight. A nice touch.
A range of drinks are available including a half-decent coffee. Don’t forget that Subway also have a very advanced loyalty or collector scheme which even has its own app. When you come to pay, they can take cards via the latest contactless system too.
Once you have your food, you can sit outside or better still take a trip up the stairs to the small eating area and watch the people of Wellington work their way across the square oblivious to you look down upon them.
Lunch deals from around £3.00, including a drink. They also do big platters for parties, meetings and greedy people from £18. Full website here: http://www.subway.co.uk
