European game publisher snaps up Telford Mans idea

Boardgame success for Telford’s Martyn Poole, comes in the shape of a Robin Hood themed game which has just been awarded a publishing deal by Final Frontier Games.

“Robin Hood and the Merry Men is a semi cooperative and highly competitive board game, set in the legendary town of Nottingham. You will play as one of the famous outlaw heroes such as Robin Hood, Little John, Will Scarlet, Much the Miller’s Son…

The objective of Robin Hood and the Merry Men is to prove you are the ultimate protector of Nottingham. You must defend the town and it’s people from the tyranny of infamous ruler Prince John and his evil Sheriff.”

Martyn told Telford Live “Final Frontier made over £500k on their last two projects and the board game industry is a fast growing one.”

This is Martyns first commercial game project, he only returned to playing board games two years ago. “I chose Robin Hood because I grew up loving it and its a theme thats not been done properly in my view.”

Martyn caught the eye of Macedonian based game publishers Final Frontier Games when he started reviewing board games. After spending 6 months developing the theme into a commercial product, the Game is set to launch at the end of 2017.
