Local election results double for UKIP

Having been dubbed ‘irrelevant’ by leading Labour activist and ex-Telford and Wrekin Borough Council cabinet member Cllr Clive Elliot just a few days ago, the UKIP party in Telford have just gained two more councillors, one at the expense of a Labour borough councillor.

These elections were unusual in that each election it was a head to head. One with an independent and one with a Labour candidate.

After winning both the Madeley Town Council and Stirchley & Brookside Parish Council by-elections, UKIP Telford & Wrekin now has 9 councillors representing Brookside, Dawley, Dothill, Ercall Magna, Kynnersley, Hollinswood, Shifnal and Woodside.

  • First they ignored us, then they laughed at us, then they attacked us and then we won. That will be on the front page of the UKIP Telford & Wrekin website the day after the elections in 2015. 🙂
