Campaign for flooded cafe hits £750 in 24hrs.

Local fundraiser Julie Ward has started a crowdfunder for the Dale End Cafe at Coalbrookdale.

The cafe was devastated not once, but twice by floodwater during the recent storms. After the first flood, the public helped to clean up, only for the water to return the following day.

From the crowdfunder, "Telford have huge hearts one things that apparent when the ‘dirt’ hits the fan everyone comes together. It’s our home & forever protect it."

"2 friends of mine Sharon & Chris Harrison have had their business & lives turned upside down. As you can see what was the heart of community cafe if now an empty shell after 2 floods in 2 days."

"Monday 17th February was their 2nd Anniversary of running Dale End Cafe. Instead of cake, smiles & celebrations – they spent the day in sludge, water & heart break.
Their hearts broken with their cafe destroyed."

Julie has raised over £750 for her friends so far, with a target of £5000.

  • Hi Julie

I saw you on the TV this morning raising money for the café–not surprised to see you doing something like this.

I would love to be in contact again after so many years (since Inergy closed)
