Bin Bored? Let's find the oldest wheelie bin in Telford
For almost 30 years, the red-top wheelie bin has been a common sight on the streets of Telford, at least on Bin Day. We're trying to find the oldest one still in use.
How to date your bin
Please do not cut the bin in half and try to count the rings. This only works on trees and swiss rolls.
On the lid of the bin, it will tell you the year, but as official Binspectors we'll let you into a secret. Under the lid of the bin, is a stamp which will tell you the month and year of manufacture. (See the pics).
We have managed to find some '92 vintage bins, if you have one of these, or a '91 early model, we're interested. Post pics of the stamp in the comments.
There are some rules:
-Red Bins only
-Must be stamped with @TelfordWrekin or just Telford logo (no foreigners or imports)
– Must be still in use (no Concours or show bins)
Photographic evidence required.
