If you go down to the woods today…

You might be in for a suprise. No, no bears but an artifact from Telford’s retail past that will be familiar for most 40 year olds who were living in the town through the 79s and 80s.

Gary Morby photographed the remnants of a shopping trolley, languishing in the depths of a wooded area near the shopping centre.

The handle bears the name Carrefour, a French ‘Hypermarket’ chain which opened in the town in October 1973. Thanks to Gary for allowing Telford Live to use the photo.
