Charity Cards caused Print Company to Fold

Charity Cards caused Print Company to Fold

OK, let’s back up a bit here! The High Sheriff of Shropshire, Selina Graham, joined with volunteers from the charity’s official Shropshire Fundraising Group, the sponsors of this year’s Christmas cards Clarkes Solicitors, and Shropshire artist Ali Wright and photographer Christine Darlington, two of the contributors of the images used in the cards, to celebrate the production of the 2022 cards.

The High Sheriff commented “ It might seem a bit early for Christmas, but it’s never too soon to launch a Christmas card when it is for such a good cause as Alzheimer’s Research UK. History shows that diseases can be slowed and even stopped – we need more funds for dementia research – it’s never been more important!”

Rachel Davenport and Luke Taylor from Clarkes Solicitors were delighted to help. “Dementia impacts whole families and is devastating for the individual. Clarkes is very pleased to support the Shropshire Fundraising Group and help to end the heartbreak so many experience” said Rachel.
Katie Foster, Chair of the Group, was keen to stress how much help they had received from the artists and photographers who supplied this year’s images: “Charlie Adlard and Phil Barrett weren’t free to come today but we are so grateful to everyone who has helped and continues to do so for the past 5 years since we started. We’ve been able to hold the price at £3.99 for 10 cards only because of such support” she added.

“As an example of such incredible help, Allun Williams of Cyclone Sign & Print who generously sorted out the print for us, got his daughter – apprentice Abi – and wife Jackie, to fold 6000 cards by hand when a problem arose with the delivery so that we would not miss our deadlines!” Katie added.

“I couldn’t let Katie down” said Allun, a member of Telford Business Club so I just told her I would sort it”.
