Kelly steps up to practice manager role
Midlands accountancy firm, Turas, has promoted Kelly Wilson to practice manager to handle client liaison and community engagement.
Kelly, 44, from Stirchley in Telford, joined the company five years ago as a part-time office administrator.
Her role has expanded as the company has grown and she is now responsible for co-ordinating client needs and internal office functions to keep the practice running efficiently and ensuring deadlines are met.
Kelly’s career started in 1999 when she began studying for her Association of Accountancy Technicians qualifications after her A Levels.
She specialised in office management roles across a range of business sectors and joined Turas as an office administrator working part-time to accommodate her young family. She gradually increased her hours and responsibilities and is now delighted to be appointed as practice manager.
Her role includes regular communication with clients throughout the year to keep them aware of deadlines and ensure they send all necessary information on time, managing onboarding for new clients, liaising with HMRC and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
Kelly also co-ordinates Turas’ community engagement initiatives and organises volunteer work with local projects and charities. She recently organised a volunteer day for the Turas team with the Cuan Wildlife Rescue at Much Wenlock.
Kelly said she particularly enjoyed working with the company’s varied portfolio of clients.
“Working with our clients is incredibly rewarding. Without our clients, there would be no Turas. We’re incredibly fortunate to work with fantastic people to provide support across a diverse range of businesses.
“I’m looking forward to continuing contributing to the growth and success of Turas for many years to come,” she said.
Turas Accountants’ director, Helen Columb, said Kelly’s appointment had been a natural progression from her initial role.
“Kelly has been a huge asset to the company since she joined us five years ago and promoting her to practice manager was a natural progression. She is the friendly voice clients hear when they ring the office and we couldn’t wish for a better ambassador for the company,” said Helen.
