New CT Scanner suite proposed
Haygate Vets owner CVS has submitted plans to invest in an extension to the front of the current premises that will house a new CT Scanner.
The surgery on Haygate Road in Wellington is one of over 500 that CVS own, and they employ around 9000 staff across all their brands.
Earlier this year, the company announced that as part of a pioneering training programme, they are embarking on a plan to upskill its nurses on diagnostic imaging techniques so that they can undertake X-rays, Computed Tomography (CT) scans, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and ultrasounds in practice.
The new diagnostic equipment allows vets to examine internal organs, bones ands muscles to better diagnose illnesses or conditions and determine the best course of treatment.
The plans have been lodged and the public consultation will end in February, when a decision will be taken.
