Vandals destroy trees in public park

Vandals snapped eight healthy trees in the Covid Memorial Woodland, Strine Park in Newport over the weekend.

Cllr Peter Scott told Telford Live “Angry and upset doesn’t cover it! Yesterday someone decided to vandalise and destroy the replacement trees we put in only a week ago plus 2 more.

“8 healthy trees gone…I find it so sad that anyone out there could commit such an act of what is criminal damage.”.

Having reported it to the police – Crime number 122I10022025 – Cllr Scott appealed for more information.

“I’m trying to pin down a time. Can you help please?

This is an attack on all of us. Our public realm is for the benefit of all of us.”
