Halfway and home for determined duo

Two army veterans, Barry (70) from Shifnal and John (65), from Fife, embarked on an extraordinary 1,200-mile walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats on Sunday, 23rd March.

Over 65 days, they will be walking across the UK, with 80% of their route off-road, tackling the Pennines, climbing Ben Nevis, and culminating in the Cateran Yomp, a gruelling 54-mile trek in 24 hours through the Cairngorm Mountains at the end of their challenge.

Their mission is to raise £50,000 for charity, and they’ve already reached £6,000 plus over £1,000 in Gift Aid. The support from local communities in Cornwall along the way has been incredible.

The pair are on day 20 and this weekend they will be passing through Barry’s home route. Sunday 13th is Craven Arms to Ironbridge.
