Sutton Hill man sentenced for cocaine possession and obstructing a police officer
A 41 year-old man from Sutton Hill has appeared before Telford Magistrates’ Court to face charges involving drug possession and the obstruction of a police officer following an incident last summer.
Brian Deviy, of Maythorn Close, pleaded guilty to two separate offences dating back to 19 July 2025.
The court heard that Deviy was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine, a controlled Class A drug, in Telford. On the same date, he also wilfully obstructed a police officer while she was carrying out her duties.
For the charge of obstructing the constable, magistrates handed Deviy a conditional discharge lasting twelve months.
Regarding the possession of the Class A drug, he was ordered to pay a fine of £233, along with a victim surcharge of £93 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Records indicate that Deviy’s guilty pleas were taken into account when the sentences were determined, and he has been ordered to pay the total financial penalty through monthly instalments of £100 starting in April.
