Police seize vehicles blocking road junction
The West Merica Police Arleston and College Safer Neighbourhood Team has removed two vehicles from the public highway following reports from the community regarding road safety.
The police action was sparked by a specific report from a member of the public concerning a car that was obstructing the view at a busy junction.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that one of the vehicles was untaxed, while the other was declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) but was still parked on the public highway. By being positioned on the corner of the junction, the vehicles were making it difficult for other drivers to pull out safely.
A spokesperson for the Telford and Wrekin Police described the recovery as a “2 for the price of 1” outcome.
They added: “Keeping vehicles properly taxed and parked appropriately isn’t just a legal requirement – it helps keep our roads safe, fair and accountable for everyone. If you’ve got a vehicle that is off the road, make sure that it is declared SORN and parked off the public highway. If it’s being used, make sure it’s taxed.”
