Volunteers Bring a Christmas Smile to Telford
Started in 2013, Christmas Smile collects and distributes Christmas gifts for vulnerable children and adults across the Telford and Wrekin community. The project works with local council departments and charities to ensure we reach as many people in need of a smile as possible.
This years campaign has now started, and already the project has received more referrals for gifts so far this year, than they did by mid-December 2014 and the team are looking for your help. Volunteer Kerry Atterbury says ‘ Our vision is that no child should go without at least one special gift from Santa. We collect donated gifts for Telford based children who are living under difficult circumstances. Last year we expanded to include any community residents who may be in difficulty, alone and without a gift at Christmas time. We’ve been extremely successful over the last 2 years.’
If you could donate a gift this year then head over to www.christmassmile.org.uk/donate where all donation points are registered for you to drop off your gift or bring it in to our HQ yourself and see for yourself what we do! Closing date for donations is 5th December.
And if you’d like to host a donation point for us in your workplace, school, club or group then the /host page gives you all the details you need. If you want to volunteer, there there are details here: www.christmassmile.org.uk/volunteer
